Veterans Makin a Difference 18! Please welcome Amy Forsythe honorably discharged Enlisted Marine! She is an award-winning military photojournalist who served as a U.S. Marine for nearly 18 years and is currently in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a Public Affairs Officer with Naval Special Warfare. She’s served five combat tours and has been on assignment for several other overseas missions in Germany, Poland, Romania, Niger, Guam, Panama, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Malaysia. Amy is a contributing military lifestyle reporter and often hosts special events and programs for KOCT-The Oceanside Channel. Her book “Heroes Live Here: A Tribute to Camp Pendleton Marines” started as a passion project to showcase the memorials and markers on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in 2022 and it turned into a collaborative work of art that honors our fallen Marines of the post-9/11 generation. She was named as Success Magazine’s Top 50 Women of Influence in 2022 and was also inducted into the San Diego County Women’s Hall of Fame in the ‘Historian’ category in 2023. She’s a special correspondent for KOCT, a local Oceanside TV station, and her passion is working with non-profit organizations to promote services and resources to veterans in the San Diego area. Amy was first stationed at Camp Pendleton, California in 1995 and still has strong ties to the base and surrounding communities. She's involved in supporting various Veteran Service Organizations in San Diego County and around the country. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Cal State University San Marcos and a Masters Degree in Global Leadership from University of San Diego.
